Double-Up Publishing is a publisher of novels in the urban fiction and romance genres. Our company broke ground with the spectacular Award Winning street tale of "187 Iz An Art", which is an urban fiction about a murderous drug crew that murdered its way into power and then took over an entire city. "187 Iz An Art" was coauthored by founder Mikal El-Amin and his childhood friend Richard Brown.
Double-Up Publishing was started in 2009 by El-Amin who was compelled to not let his knowledge of Urban American retreat as just vivid memories, but instead would use his experiences to publish books which would entertain and bring awareness to others.
At Double-Up Publishing our mission is to publish the most entertaining, raw, and fascinating works of urban fiction and romance as possible. Hence our company slogan "Urban Fiction At It's Finest!"
What sets Double-Up Publishing apart from other independent publishers of urban fiction, is our methods of obtaining talented and gifted writers. We achieve this by seeking authors from very different and unique backgrounds and cultures. Double-Up Publishing is an urban fiction and romance publisher, however we strive to bring to the public a broad diversity of authors from all ethnicities.
Because of El-Amin having a profound understanding of urban environments he felt that providing this demographic, an avenue to either express their selves as writers or enjoy their time immersed in amazing stories, it would allow Double-Up Publishing a way to give back to Urban America.
